Poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many types on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier saying "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original wager, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the casino. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a sum in accordance with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The casino pays out chips even with your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
