Internet poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling 21 than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the bank rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier broadcasting "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the other players attain five cards each. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning ante, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes directly to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including a sum in accordance with the original wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The bank pony’s up chips even with your original bet and set odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
