No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he could about poker. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative comments from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an undying passion for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Even though Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
