Omaha Hi-Low: Fundamental Outline

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most complicated but favored poker variations. It is a variation that, even more than normal Omaha poker, aims for action from all levels of players. This is the main reason why a once obscure variation, has expanded in popularity so quickly.
Omaha hi lo starts like a regular game of Omaha. 4 cards are dealt to every player. A sequence of wagering ensues where players can bet, check, or fold. 3 cards are given out, this is called the flop. One more sequence of betting happens. Once all the players have in turn called or dropped out, another card is revealed on the turn. Another round of betting happens at which point the river card is revealed. The gamblers will need to make the best high and low five card hands based on the board and hole cards.
This is the point where some players get baffled. Contrasted to Holdem, where the board can be everyone’s hand, in Omaha Hi-Lo the player has to utilize exactly 3 cards on the board, and precisely 2 cards from their hand. No more, not a single card less. Unlike normal Omaha, there are 2 ways a pot can be won: the "high hand" or the "low hand."
A high hand is exactly how it sounds. It is the strongest possible hand out of everyone’s, whether that is a straight, flush, full house. It’s the identical approach in nearly every poker game.
A lower hand is more difficult, but really opens up the action. When deciding on a low hand, straights and flushes do not count. the lowest hand is the weakest hand that can be put together, with the lowest being A-2-3-4-5. Since straights and flushes do not count, A-2-3-4-5 is the lowest possible hand. The low hand is any five card hand (unpaired) with an 8 and below. The lower hand wins half of the pot, as does the high hand. When there is no low hand presented, the high hand wins the whole pot.
Although it seems complicated at the outset, following a couple of hands you will be able to get the base subtleties of play with ease.
