Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the dealer saying "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the different players acquire 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original ante, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes instantly to the bank. After the bet comes the conclusion. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, plus a figure equal to the initial wager. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The bank pony’s up money equal to your original bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
